10 Minneapolis St Paul Taprooms

You can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a taproom anymore. There are new taprooms opening in Minneapolis and St Paul seemingly weekly. Which is awesome. So, without further ado, here are the top 10 I’ve been to so far. AKA the 10 I’ve been to so far.

612Brew – OK, this place is loud! To be fair though, I’ve only been there once and it was on Halloween. So it’s entirely possible that that isn’t the normal Friday night crowd. The place was packed and they had some pretty loud music going on. 612 serves up their beer (they had 5 the night I was there) and some craft soda. They have pints, flights and growlers for sale as well as the regular merch. Their outdoor area was really cool. They have a bunch of tables and chairs and it feels really secluded with the walls all around. I want to get back there on a night that isn’t Halloween.

Bauhaus Brew Labs – Right then! This is a cool space. This has to be the biggest taproom in the Twin Cities. They have a huge bar, a billion or so tables and a huge stage. Outside there are even more tables and chairs. The brewing area is even bigger than the taproom and looks really cool with the stacks and stacks of empty cans back there. It was very crowded there when I was there, but it wasn’t overly loud beacause the ceilings are so high. I really like Bauhaus’ design and style. The room is industrial and the garage doors are seriously huge. They have pints, flights and growlers along with their merchandise.

Cannon Falls

Cannon Falls is a little town 40 miles southeast of the Twin Cities here in Minnesota. Cannon Falls is most well known as being the home to Pachyderm Studios, the recording studio that Nirvana recorded In Utero at. And also for the drainage ditch where kids go to skateboard. At least that’s what it’s known for where I come from.

We went down to Cannon Falls to see Shellie’s parents before they head down to Arizona for the winter. And also for lunch, more food and, as it turns out, bingo.

Just a quick one

I don’t have a lot to say. Today was really snowy and pretty cold out. I had some decent beers today. I had an Indeed Stir Crazy. I thought it would be perfect for a cold and crappy day like today, but it proved to be more than what I was looking for. Later I had a Tallgrass 8 Bit and then a Tallgrass Ethos. Both are tasty beers I’ve had before. It’s getting close to bed time. I just wanted to add a quick post (mostly to test this new theme out).
